Your skin barrier needs to be healthy to undertake this treatment. To get your skin in shape, you will be prescribed a morning and nightly skincare routine using Lira Clinical homecare products.

Sebaceous Gland Ablation (SGA) involves using a small probe (no thicker than the size of a hair) which is inserted into the hair follicle to eradicate the hyperactive oil gland that is attached
Most people, liken the sensation to that of a pimple popping, however, with this process, we use sterilised equipment and technology.
Once the probe is inserted,the pressure and pain experienced by severe acne is instantly relieved. During this process, electrically induced heat is applied to the gland and hair follicle (the one causing all your acne grief), to destroy it, so it will no longer produce a pimple.
This procedure doesn’t topically treat your acne problem but instead is much better, by putting a stop-to-the-spot at its very core, getting rid of your ongoing acne afflictions and saving you money, time and tears.
Each person’s skin is different, so we begin with an Advanced Skin Analysis using our Observ Skin Analysis machine to see below the surface of your skin and identify the problem. This process gives you (and us!) accurate information on how to treat your individual skin issues and provides a fairly good estimate of how long the entire process should take and how many treatments you should schedule.
Suitability for treatments is determined by your treating nurse/dermal therapist. Treatments can only be commenced after you have had an Advanced Skin Analysis consultation and once you have completed a minimum of two weeks of using your prescribed Lira Clinical home care products.
Yes, however, these may not be the type of results you desire initially, as Sebaceous Gland Ablation (SGA) treatments can cause the skin to purge immediately after. Skin purging typically looks like tiny red bumps on the skin that are painful to touch and often accompanied by whiteheads or blackheads. Purging can also cause your skin to become flaky. BUT NEVER FEAR; these purging flare-ups have a shorter lifespan than a standard breakout and are exactly why we have incorporated the Acne Clear Rx Peel into the regime to resolve any breakouts that may appear.
TRUST US. You want this purge to happen as this is your body’s way of ridding itself of the pimple’s power over your complexion.
You can be on prescription medication during the course of your Acne Clear Rx treatments. However, if you are on Roaccutane or have been taking it recently, we can not perform any treatments unless you have been off it for 6-12 months. Always let us know what medications you’re on in your initial consultation.
