Aftercare 101: How to Maximise the Benefits of Your Treatment

Follow these steps to help ensure a safe and successful Eyebrow Tattoo Removal experience.

Aftercare - Post Treatment

Immediately following treatment

  • There will be a red discoloration of the skin. In rare instances A small amount of bleeding and/or blistering and/or bruising may occur. This normally heals within 7 - 14 days.

  • The tattoo will appear foggy and begin its fading process over the next month.

Immediate post-treatment care

  • Cooling: Applying a cold compress can help reduce immediate swelling or discomfort.

  • Avoid Touching: Minimize touching the area to prevent infection.

  • Post treatment ointment: You will be required to apply Stratamed wound healing ointment to ensure effective healing of the treated area. Apply the Stratamed wound healing ointment to the treated area as directed by your treating nurse/dermal therapist for 7-14 day

Managing side effects

  • Swelling and Redness:  Swelling may be evident immediately post treatment or develop shortly after treatment and may take 2-3 days to resolve.

  • Blistering and Scabbing:  Over the next several days, blisters may form followed by a scab or thin crust. If blisters form, let them heal or re-absorb or break on their own, but keep applying the Stratamed wound healing ointment over them. Any scabs or crusting should be allowed to fall off on their own. The underlying skin will remain red for a few days to several weeks. To minimize complications, do not remove crusts.

Skin Care Post-Treatment

  • Gentle Cleansing: Use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.

  • Moisturising: Apply a gentle, non-irritating moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated.

  • Avoid Makeup to the area treated: Until the area is fully healed to prevent infection and irritation.

  • Showering/bathing: Is permitted after 24 hours. Gently pat the area dry; do not rub with a towel or washcloth as this may disrupt the crusting/scabbing process.

  •  Avoid activities that may increase redness and swelling for 24 - 48 hours (eg: exercise, very hot showers and baths etc)

Sun Protection

  • Strict Sun Avoidance: The treated area is more susceptible to sunburn and pigmentation changes.

  • Sunscreen Application: Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher even on cloudy days.

Diet and Hydration

  • Nutrient-Rich Foods: Foods rich in vitamins A and C can aid in skin healing.
