Scarring

Any scarring can make you feel insecure, whether from injury, stretch marks or acne. Each scar has a story to tell, and in most cases, that story comes with some kind of pain.

Most skin scarring occurs due to acne, and because these scars are usually seen on your face, they’re not easily hidden, causing stress and a range of negative emotions such as embarrassment and inadequacy.

Types of Skin Scarring

Atrophic scars are the most common, making skin look thin and sunken — as though the affected area is being pulled down.

Rolling scars cause a wave-like pattern on the skin. Broad depressions with a slopping edge.
Boxcar scars appear when deep pockets form within the upper layer of the skin, resulting in an uneven surface.
Icepick scars cause pits that run along the surface layers of the skin up to 4mm deep.
Hypertrophic scars are lumpy and raised above the surface layer of the skin, which makes them visible.

Scarring is nothing to be ashamed of, but saying that, and living it, are two different things.

Be encouraged there are numerous and successful treatments to remove face and body scarring (such as stretch marks) or scarring as a result of surgery or skin injury.
