Why choose The Skin Manifesto for your laser tattoo removal treatment?
At The Skin Manifesto we only TGA approved Q-Switched ND:Yag and Ruby laser technology for our tattoo removal treatment. Our Q-Plus C Laser System uses direct laser energy targeting the ink in your tattoo in just a few Nano-Seconds without damaging the surrounding tissue. The laser energy, which creates a photo-acoustic affect, then fragments the ink down into small particles, which allows the body to absorb the ink and discard it naturally, resulting in less tattoo pigment and a gradual fading of the tattoo over your treatment sessions.
How many treatments are needed?
It can take anywhere between 3 to 12 treatments to remove an Eyebrow tattoo. The range is wide because each client is different and each tattoo is different. The amount of treatment sessions required is affected by the following: immune system, skin type, anatomical location of the tattoo, whether the tattoo is amateur or professionally done, black or multi-coloured, amount of ink, multiple tattoo layers, and low grade scarring and other skin textural changes that can make removal more difficult. Nearly all tattoos require multiple treatments to achieve maximal fading; some tattoos will require revision of abnormal scarring as a result of the application process of the tattoo. If scar revision is needed it will be an additional charge to you. Clinical results may vary
Treatment intervals
Treatment intervals are normally 5-8 weeks apart. This gap allows for the best overall result for you, as your body requires this time to effectively remove the broken down ink particles via your lymphatic system. Treatment gaps of less than 5 weeks do not appear to be any more effective.
Pain management
Most clients find laser tattoo removal tolerable and experience a prickling sensation in the skin. Your skin is cooled down throughout the treatment process, so as to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you. If you find the treatment uncomfortable, you may apply topical anaesthetic cream 1-2 hours prior to your treatment.
Contraindications to treatment
Pregnancy / breast feeding.
Medication; Oral Isotretinoin (i.e. Accutane) used within the last 6 months. Anti-coagulants or photosensitizing drugs.
Known Allergies: (allergic reaction to the tattoo ink at the time it was applied. Patients who have had prior allergic reactions to dyes can potentially have a laser-induced reaction due to the release of tattoo pigment antigens into the body).
Active infections and immunosuppression.
Herpes, Blood borne diseases or disorders.
Open Lesions.

Professional evaluation
Skin Type Assessment: Different skin types respond differently to laser treatment. We will assess your skin to determin the likelihood of pigmentation changes or scarring.
Ink Analysis: The colour and composition of the ink can affect the removal process. Certain inks are more challenging to remove than others. We will assess the ink and determine if removal with our Q-switched laser will be effective.
Test patch: Prior to your initial Eyebrow tattoo Removal treatment a test patch will be performed. The test patch conducted will determine if we are able to proceed with your Eyebrow tattoo removal treatment. If no profound side effects are evident your initial treatment will be conducted 7-14 days after your test patch.

Skin preparation
Avoiding Skin Irritants: Refrain from using retinoids or exfoliating products near the eyebrows.
Hydration: Well-hydrated skin may respond better to laser treatment.
